If we had to guess based on the name, we'd say your upcoming Dangerously Bound series might have a BDSM focus. Are we right (and do we get a prize)? What can you tell us about the series?

Yes, the Dangerous Series books will all have a strong BDSM theme, including the first in the series, Dangerously Bound.

The series takes place in New Orleans, one of my favorite cities. I love it for the food, the music, the architecture, and that sense of lush sensuality in the air — it seemed a perfect location for this series. Although my heroes are all Scottish and Irish the city plays a big part in the tone of the books, and in the family histories of all my heroines, starting with Alessandra ‘Allie’ LeClair.

Allie is a strong, fiercely independent woman who hasn’t been able to forget her first love, Mick Reid, even though she went all the way to Europe to try to put him behind her — and stayed there for years, learning to be a pastry chef as well as a well-trained submissive. Now she’s back in her city and she’s going after Mick with a vengeance.

Mick is the ultimate bad boy, including his leather jackets, his tattoos, and his habit of using bare knuckle boxing as a way to let off steam. He’s a man eaten up by issues he can’t seem to let go — and one of those issues is his enduring love for Allie, the one he let get away. But she’s always been too good for him, too sweet, someone he has to protect from the beast inside him — the one that finds its release at New Orleans’ BDSM club, The Bastille, where he’s a Dom with a specialty in rope bondage. But Allie’s all grown up now, and she has other ideas. She’s about to show Mick she’s not nearly as sweet as he thinks.

You're known for writing tough, sexy heroines. Will we meet any ladies like that in your Dangerously Bound books?

Allie is definitely tough and sexy. She’s spent most of her adult life traveling the world on her own, and it takes a strong heart and will to withstand the rigors of training as a submissive. Despite what some may think, learning to submit is an act of great bravery and inner strength. She’s someone who’s confident — which is always the ultimate in sexy, in my mind, whether in a man or a woman — and she’s completely unafraid of sex, aware of her own sensual nature.

We know object covers are the hot thing for erotic romance these days, but do you have any hopes for what the cover will look like?

I think the industry will see a trend very soon away from the object covers, and I hope the cover for Dangerously Bound will show Mick’s hot, tattooed body, as well as give a little of the flavor of New Orleans. Oh, and since Mick is a rope Top, it’s got to have a little rope somewhere!

And lastly, when can readers get their hands on book 1?

It’s not out until April, 2014, which feels like forever to me! I’m in love with these characters and can’t wait to share their hot and very emotional story with readers. Luckily the two follow-up books, Dangerously Broken — Mick’s best friend Jamie’s story — and Dangerously Bad — Jamie’s Scottish cousin Duff’s story — should come out fairly soon after.

You can keep an eye out for Dangerously Bound, available April 2014. For more steamy love stories, visit our Everything Erotica Page.
