The Social Sunday program, new to this year's convention, was an absolute success. Authors, readers and booksellers enjoyed a day long program of events. Here are some of this years highlights:
On Saturday Nancy Berland Public Relations hosted Women's Fiction Day at the convention. The events ranged from interviews, informational panels and social gatherings.
Once again Jo Carol Jones, the RT Convention Director, outdid herself with the RT BOOKLOVERS Convention 2010. I, Morgan Doremus RT's Web Editor, was in Columbus, Ohio from Tuesday to Sunday and attended parties, panels, dinners, booksignings and more. While my favorite thing about the RT Convention was getting to meet readers, booksellers, authors, aspiring authors, librarians, bloggers, and publishers, I have to admit that my favorite event was the website launch party.
Last night at the RT BOOKLOVERS Convention Jamie Ungaro was named Mr. Romance 2010! Congrats to Jamie. We'll see him soon when he visits New York to shoot his Dorchester book cover.
Hundreds of authors and thousands of readers met at the giant RT BOOKLOVERS Book Fair on Saturday.
Just of a few of the authors signing included:
All week long the gentlemen who are competing for the title of Mr. Romance 2010 have been campaigning to win the crown. In addition to being Mr. Romance 2010, and wining a cash prize, the title comes with an all-expenses paid trip to New York City to be on the cover of a Dorchester romance which will be nationally distributed.
