Cable television channel TNT is lining up “The TNT Tuesday Night Mystery” feature. This programing will include contemporary crime dramas as well as made-for-TV movies that will be shown each week. And even more exciting, many of the proposed projects are adaptations of works from fan-favorite mystery authors.
Beginning in November, TNT will premier movies that are based on popular novels like Scott Turow’s Innocent, Sandra Brown’s Ricochet, Lisa Gardner’s Hide, as well as other works by Richard North Patterson, April Smith and Mary and Carol Higgins Clark.
Additionally, the network announced that a TV series is in the works based on Tess Monaghan, the newspaper reporter turned private eye from Laura Lippman’s books. And mystery lovers can also expect Scent of the Missing, another series which is based on Susannah Charleson’s memoir about training herself and her dog, Puzzle, to be a search and rescue team. But don't worry, the #1 cable show Rizzoli & Isles, which is based on Tess Gerritsen's books, will also be returning for a second season.
Michael Wright, the executive vice president, head of programming for TNT says, “We understand that exceptional programming comes from working with exceptional talent.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves — these are some of the best mystery authors writing today and we can't wait to see their books adapted for TV.
