BLOG UPDATE 1/10/2012: We're happy to announce that the wait is over and John Green's newest novel, The Fault in Our Stars is now available. You can check out the *Web Exclusive Review* of the story to find out why RT's Raven gave this read a Top Pick! And if you didn't have time to take RT Editor Elissa's suggestions of things to do while waiting for The Fault in Our Stars' pub date, be sure to check out these options for a post-read fix of John Green-greatness ...

For those of you who were marking time ’til John Green’s latest, The Fault in Our Stars, was released on January 10th, I shared some ideas to help you wile away the days. First, I suggested getting tickets to the Printz-winning author’s Tour de Nerdfighting, a spoken-word tour featuring the author and his brother based on Green's website nerdfighting.com, which aims to "increase awesome and [decrease] world suck." It seemed people are taking a break from their holiday shopping to buy tickets, because cities are selling out right quick! Those of us in New York, Boston and DC were out of luck, but if you’re near New Orleans, Alabama, Texas and more points West, there’s still time.

While you waited for the tour and the book, I also suggested some Green holiday reading. Green published an anthology, Let it Snow, with fellow YA blockbusters Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle in 2008, and the whole collection is just a treat. The title has a bit of a Love Actually vibe where the stories intersect, and characters from one story appear in the other tales, making for fun cameos that you’ll soon be on the look out for. Plus, this collection has the added benefit of giving you a taste of three of the best contemporary authors writing today, so you can add more authors to your reading list for 2012. If you want to try some other Green reads, An Abundance of Katherines or Paper Towns is sure to satisfy.

Happy reading and happy new year, friends!
