Wrapping Up Our Aspiring Author Month
Today is the last day of November and the end of NaNoWriMo for all of you aspiring authors. We are sad to see the month come to a close. Hopefully our month-long focus on writing at The RT Daily Blog inspired you to get lots of work done on your manuscript.
Each week on the blog we spotlighted advice from authors from almost every genre, such as Maggie Shayne in romantic suspense, Sherry Thomas in historical romance and the seven YA authors blogging at Books, Boys and Buzz. We also featured authors' advice on writing in general. Some of our favorites were Jane Porter on writing with emotion, Tim Downs' helpful tips for aspiring authors to consider if they want to write for a living and Celeste O. Norfleet advice for creating multifaceted multicultural characters. Additionally we gave writers some good online resources and writer's block busters. You can check out the entire list of blogs we posted for Aspiring Author Month here.
For everyone who met the NaNoWriMo goal of writing 50,000 words this November, congratulations. And for those who didn't, don't sweat it; the best tip we heard all month was "no matter what, just keep writing." Remember at you can always find writing tips, tricks and special advice from authors, Shiloh Walker's latest Writes & Wrongs column and more at RT's Aspiring Author Home!
