Love in the Windy City: Julie Ann Walker's Favorite Chicago-set Romances

Devil and the Deep by Julie Ann WalkerIf you're traveling this summer — via reality or just your arm chair, why not take a trip with us to the Windy City? Today Chicago native Julie Ann Walker, whose romantic suspense Devil and the Deep is out next week, shares her favorite Chicago-set romances. Take it away, Julie!

In honor of my hometown, I'm here to shine a light on five of my favorite romances set in Chi-Town. Grab one of these novels and I promise you won't just fall in love with the heroes and heroines, you'll fall in love with my fair city, too. Just like the Windy City, there's a little bit of something for everyone to love!

So, without further ado, and in no particular order:

Playing with Fire by Kate Meader: A female firefighter goes head-to-head with Chicago's smack-talking, hot-as-hell mayor. Talk about sparks flying!

It Happened One Wedding by Julie James: She's an investment banker. He's a Special Agent. And the battle of wills and wits between the two of them keeps the pages turning at a lightning-fast pace.

It Had to be You by Susan Elizabeth Phillips: This is the tale of what happens when a New York knockout inherits a Chicago football team along with its sexist jock of a head coach. It's one heartwarming, hilarious read!

The Hostage by Susan Wiggs: This is the first of a trilogy of books based and set around the time of The Great Chicago Fire. A little history, a lot of romance and a hero that will make you swoon. What more could you want?

Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren: A heroine you love to love and a hero you love to hate. Throw in sex so hot it'll light your e-reader on fire and you have a winner!

Devil and the Deep will be with us on July 5. You can grab your copy here: Amazon,, Kobo, iTunes, GooglePlay. And for more love stories set in all kinds of places, why not visit our Everything Romance page?
