Wild for Film: Debbie Rawlins on her Favorite Flicks

Wild for You by Debbi RawlinsWe love romantic movies almost as much as we love romance novels, which is why we flipped for Debbi Rawlins's August Harlequin Blaze, RT Top Pick! Wild for YouIt stars Erin, who needs Spencer's property to film a scene for her independent film. It got us to thinking about our favorite flicks — and Debbi's! Here are her picks below.

Tag line: This is not a love story. It’s a story about love.

They had me at the role reversals. He’s the one with the idealistic view of love. She’s the one who doesn’t believe in all that.

Tag line: A comedy about growing up … and the bumps along the way.

I loved Juno, mostly because Juno was so very much herself. A strong young woman faced with a great big problem, who sought her own counsel, while still listening to the advice of those people she believed in. The dialogue written by Diablo Cody is brilliant, the casting inspired, the message about what it’s really like to grow up — and know what love is (and isn’t).

Tag line: Everyone just pretend to be normal.

Weird, complex, full of surprises and ultimately so uplifting it makes me cry every time I see it. Little Miss Sunshine is a film about the triumph of love, even when everyone in your life is flat out nuts.

Tag line: A Lloyd meets girl story.

I’m going to just remind you (or tempt you to see this wonderful film) why this movie will forever be one of my favorites with a few snippets of dialogue:

Lloyd Dobler: What I really want to do with my life — what I want to do for a living — is I want to be with your daughter. I'm good at it.

* * *

Lloyd Dobler: She's gone. She gave me a pen. I gave her my heart, she gave me a pen.

* * *

Diane Court: I love you. How many more times do I have to say it?

Lloyd Dobler: One more would be nice.

Diane Court: I love you ... please. I love you.

(Not) The official tag line: A love that transcends time and space. (Also OMG Reese is so hot.)

You might not think love story, but remember this line? “I came across time for you, Sarah. I love you. I always have.” Sigh. And sigh again.
