Self-Published Bestsellers: January 2017

So many self-published titles are released each and every day, it’s hard to know which ones are worth your time — and your cash. As always, your RT Web Team is here for you, to help make sense of it all. We've scoured the bestseller lists to put together some of the top selling romance titles that caught our eye this month. Get your TBR list ready!

Egomaniac by Vi KeelandEgomaniac by Vi Keeland
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Published: January 2017
The Story: Interestingly (maybe just to us) there's a mini-trend, a trendlet if you will, going on in the blockbuster self-published titles this month: they all involve close quarters forced by real estate. Our first selection this month is Egomaniac, which wins points for its excellent title alone. It's the story of Emerie and Drew. Emerie falls for a scam wherein she rents Drew's office from a con artist, when it is very much not available for rent. (New York real estate! We actually know someone this has happened to!) Drew, despite being the aforementioned Egomaniac, takes pity on Emerie and allows her to share the space. Only she's a marriage counselor and he's a lawyer and their opinions clash mightily. Reviewers assure us that this romance is light on angst, so if you're looking for a fun trip toward and HEA (who isn't?) you might want to give this one a try!

The Room Mate by Kendall Ryan
Genre:
Contemporary Romance
Published: January 2017
The Story: In our second close proximity story, we've got roommates Paige and Cannon. Cannon is Paige's best friend's little brother. Love it. He is also, he confesses, a sex god. (We know.) He says he's cursed, women instantly fall for him (sounds terrible). Paige, obviously, calls bullshit on this. But then … (Honorable mention for yet a third roommmate romance this month, Lauren Blakely's Full Package, wherein our hero must share his apartment with his best friend's little sister. Yes really. You know, it is super hard to find an apartment, so we get it.)

Scars by Avery FordScars by Avery Ford
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Published: January 2017
The Story: Caleb's a firefighter recovering from an accident. Henry's working his way back to himself after an abusive relationship. They've both got inward and outward Scars to deal with. Reviewers love that Ford pulls no punches in the M/M contemporary romance, just simply tells a love story about two men trying to get over past trauma to find love. Perfect for Valentine's Day, we think.

Delivery Girl by Lily Kate
Genre:
Contemporary Romance
Published: January 2017
The Story: Feel like laughing? (Us too.) Then you might want to check out this sports romance from Kate, which stars hockey god Ryan and pizza delivery girl Andi. Ryan likes her so much, he orders 15 pizzas in one night. A man after our own heart! And here's another trope if you still need convincing: Ryan asks Andi to be his fake girlfriend at his brother's wedding … and these two love birds are off! This is Kate's debut, so if you're looking for a new author to try, click away!
