AudioFile Picks: Audiobook Reviews 9/15/17
It's no secret that we at RT love reading romance! And if you happen to see us with headphones on, but no book in hand, it's likely that we're listening to an audiobook. But audiobooks depend on more than just the plot, it takes an excellent narrator to bring the story to life. This is where AudioFile comes in, a print-and-digital magazine that reviews audiobooks so you know which stories are worth listening to. We've partnered with AudioFile to bring you a selection of romantic audiobook reviews every week!
This week, we're switching things up a bit by focusing on audiobooks narrated by Renee Raudman. Many of you are probably already familiar with the cadence of Renee's voice — she narrates Ilona Andrews's audiobooks — but for those who aren't, we've got a fun video from Renee and AudioFile!
PARANORMAL ROMANCE / URBAN FANTASY
Narrator Renee Raudman reprises her earlier talented performances in the final Hidden Legacy novel. Magical private investigator and human polygraph Nevada Baylor considers registering her family as a magical "House."
Nevada Baylor, a private investigator in a magical Houston, teams up with the dangerously magical Connor “Mad” Rogan to put a stop to the evil being perpetrated by a murderous cabal. AudioFile Earphones Award winner.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Or in Andrea Nash's case, like a half-hyena, half-woman. Andrea reluctantly collaborates with her ex-boyfriend, pack leader Rafael, on a murder investigation that quickly goes south when power hungry deities threaten an apocalypse.
Kaldar Mar insists that Audrey Callahan help him regain a stolen magical artifact before it falls into the wrong hands. After all, Audrey owes him a favor.
At the place between the Broken (the world with no magic) and the Weird (the magical world) lies the Edge, which has aspects of both worlds.
In a husky feminine voice, Renée Raudman takes listeners into a magical Atlanta as Kate Daniels, a mercenary, fights monsters from Hindu legend, her feelings for the Beast Lord, and her justifiable fear of her deadly father.
