2016 Book Hankerings: Romance

Sure, the holidays are over. But you know what gift keeps on giving all year long? Books! Glorious, wonderful books. And as vigilant bibliophiles, we're taking a peek at what great books 2016 will bring us! Today, we’re ogling 2016 romance releases!

My American Duchess by Eloisa James (January 26, 2022)  — James is an autobuy author for many of us, and her late January release is no exception. For romance fans who likes to see what happens after our erstwhile hero and heroine say "I do" (like us!), this is an especially good romance to add to your TBR pile. Our longtime reviewer Kathe Robin was lucky enough to snag an advance copy and she said James’s latest was “magic.” Sign us up!

Getting Him Back by K.A. Mitchell (February 15, 2016) — You probably already love Mitchell's M/M romance, but we're especially excited about this one, because the set up is Felicity reminiscent! Ethan follows his high school boyfriend to college only to get dumped … and that's when the story really begins. Love it.

Because of Miss Bridgerton by Julia Quinn (March 29, 2022) — Quinn’s starting a new series in 2016, the Rokesbys. And guess who her first Rokesby marries? BILLIE BRIDGERTON. We know. Want this book, and the heroine’s green dress. Thanks.

The Obsession by Nora Roberts (April 12, 2022) — So basically all we need to tell you is that Nora has a book out in April, but Ride Hard, Laura Kayeboy does this one sound good. Sure, it’s got the heroine starting over in a new town. She’s running from a dark past. But you know Nora always takes it up a notch: Naomi’s been running since she freed the girl her father was keeping in the root cellar. Nora, we bow down.

Be My Valentine by Sean D. Young (April 18, 2022) — We love celebrating any and all holidays, so we're into Young's The McClendon Holiday series. The McClendons have already celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas, and now it's time for that most romantic of days, Valentine's! Done and done.

Ride Hard by Laura Kaye (April 26, 2022) — This year Kaye embarks on a new MC adventure and if the cover is any indication, this book is going to be hot, hot, hot. (We are 100 percent judging a book by its cover. And we are cool with it.) The hero is club president, and his name is Dare. You guys. We know.

Bed of Lies, Shelly EllisBed of Lies by Shelly Ellis (April 26, 2022) — We love family drama, so we're pumped for the next installment in Ellis's Chesteron Scandal series. (She had us at "Scandal.") Judging from the blurb, there's secrets, blackmail, turmoil and shocking revelations … All of our favorite things!

Untitled by Kristen Ashley (Spring 2016) — In case you don’t stalk KA’s website like we do (that’s what we’re here for, basically), Ashley’s promised us Deke Hightower’s story, the penultimate installment in her Colorado Mountain series. Further details are scant, but we are ready.

The Girl from Summer Hill by Jude Deveraux (May 3, 2022) — Oh, hey, did you know that Jude Deveraux is starting a new contemporary series this May? Well she is. Set in a small Virginia town, there’s even a local production of Pride & Prejudice happening. WWEBD? She’d preorder, of course!

Marrying Winterborne by Lisa Kleypas (May 31, 2022) — Only a master like Kleypas can have you heartsick by the principle romance while wondering just what’s going on with the side characters as well, which is just what happened in last year's Cold-Hearted Rake. In Marrying Winterborne we’ll finally get to find out just what happens with the rough Rhys and genteel-but-awkward Lady Helen. We’re also really going to need West’s story. Like real bad.

Love, Chloe by Alessandra Torre (TBD) — We don't know when Torre's next romance is coming out, but we know we want it, just like all of her books! Chloe's a New Adult trying to make it in New York City. We have been there, and it isn't easy. Pro tip: don't use Carrie Bradshaw as inspiration, her financial status was all a lie.

And there you have it! Check out all the books we’re hankering for in 2016 here, and you can also visit our Everything Romance page for more!
