Diamonds — And Books! — Are a Girl's Best Friend: Avon Turns 75

Happy birthday, Avon Books! The romance publisher who has brought us so many wonderful, swoonworthy love stories turns 75 this year! They've published so many classics, like Kathleen E. Woodiwiss's The Flame and the Flower, which came out in 1972. As part of the year-long festitivies, Avon will re-release a special edition of romance pioneer Woodiwiss's Shanna with a new foreword by Lisa Kleypas.

As diamonds are the traditional gift for 75, expect a lot of sparkle from Avon this year! In particular, they'll be hosting a gala signing at the RT Convention in Vegas! If you've ever been to an Avon event, you know they're worth attending for the free books alone, not to mention the snacks! This year we'll be blinged out, drinking Little Black Dress wine, the better to toast all the authors of Avon, past, present and future!

So here's to Avon Books — you don't look a day over 74!
