AFTER A FASHION
Extremely fast-paced and humorous, Turano’s latest will please old fans and should make some new ones. A fun romance and some great twists on what could have been a tired, recycled “marriage of convenience” storyline keep this fresh and lively. What a delightful tale!
Harriet Peabody works in a millinery shop, hoping to someday sell the gowns she re-makes to others. Oliver Addleshaw is wealthy and needs a wife to complete his business image. When Oliver’s potential fiancée flies off the handle and causes Harriet to lose her job, Oliver proposes a business deal for Harriet to pose as his fiancée to help his image. Oliver has surely met his match with the spirited Harriet, and as they spend time together, their feelings begin to shift from business to romance. (BETHANY HOUSE, Mar., 352 pp., $14.99)
