CHASING CHRISTMAS EVE
Shalvis has done it again! Her magnetic writing will hook readers within just the first few pages. San Francisco is magical all in itself, but the wishing fountain in her Heartbreaker Bay series makes it all the more surreal. We get to meet new characters and reconnect with others while Colbie and Spence's attraction sizzles. It's not too Christmas-y, but will definitely put you in the mood for a fun love story on a cold winter’s night.
YA author Colbie Albright is in dire need of a getaway. Hopefully a change of scenery and a hiatus from her younger twin brothers and New York will spark inspiration for her next fantasy novel. She leaves her destination in San Francisco up to the cabbie, who takes her to Cow Hollow. As she makes a wish in the fountain for peace and quiet, she is pushed into the water by a giant dog. Thankfully, Colbie is rescued right away by building owner and engineer Spencer Baldwin. Spence couldn’t be more apologetic and offers her a hot shower. Against his friends' wishes and concerns, he takes the gorgeous stranger into his home. Colbie does seem a little offbeat, but in a cute way, and she seems to be smitten with him, too. But in three weeks, when Christmas comes, she’ll be gone. Can Spence come up with a way to make her stay? Or will she take the next flight out and go back to the East Coast, wallowing in normalcy?
