The long wait for this next book was worth the patience! Miss Marple’s Knits attracts a slew of endearingly quirky characters, as well as murder, and Josie Blair remains the kind of heroine readers would want as a friend. The curmudgeonly neighbor continues to amuse, and the mystery is well-plotted and layered. The additional (possibly connected) thread of historical mystery adds even more dimension and intrigue to the mix.

Josie Blair is busy growing Miss Marple’s Knits, caring for her great uncle and keeping up with her blog. She’s also newly a landlady and is excited to welcome her first tenants — Lyndon and Harry, the co-owners of an antique shop. Lyndon arrives earlier than expected, but Josie can’t complain, especially when she gets her hands on a set of vintage doilies with some very unique needlework. Finding Lyndon dead is most definitely NOT on her to-do list, but when he’s stabbed to death with a pair of antique sheep shears — and Harry is named the prime suspect — she also can’t stay away.
