Kenner brings sizzling heat and high-pitched emotional tension to this second installment of her Stark International trilogy, avoiding a sophomore slump with a taut plotline and plenty of searing interludes. Though the secrets that threaten the leads seem insurmountable at times, it is gratifying to see this couple grow up and tackle their dilemmas head-on.

Though his relationship with Sylvia Brooks finally seems solid, everything else in architect Jackson Steele’s life is in turmoil. Sylvia’s strength has given him the courage to confront some of the truths he has kept hidden from the world, but now that a filmmaker has decided to make Jackson’s life a public spectacle, he knows that there are still some secrets that have the power to destroy not only him, but his relationship with Sylvia as well. Though Jackson tries to shield her from his troubled past, Sylvia knows the emotional and sensual power that she and Jackson wield, and she isn’t about to let him face this threat alone.
