A gentle, loving romance sets the stage for this Harlequin debut with the clear blue waters of the Georgian Bay serving as a stunning backdrop. Casson has a surprisingly poignant family backstory that helps offset his arrogance, while Justine seems to find her strength as the story progresses. Their struggle for control and to trust each other provides plenty of tension, both sexual and emotional, which makes the happily ever after much deserved.

Still reeling from a disastrous affair with her boss, Justine Winter decides to quit her job and return to her hometown to take over the management of Winter’s Haven, a cottage resort owned by her parents. She loves her new life and relishes in the serenity of coastal living … until handsome businessman Casson Forrester barges in with talk of buying her lakefront property! Casson isn’t accustomed to accepting no for an answer, nor is he familiar with the feelings Justine brings to the surface. (HARLEQUIN ROMANCE, May, 256 pp., $6.25)
