Taubold rounds out his collection of paranormal, zodiac-themed romance short stories with this pair inspired by the two unofficial signs — Cetus, the whale, and Ophiuchus, the serpent-bearer. Both of these stories are light, sassy and fun, with plenty of chemistry between the charismatic heroes. Though Taubold builds some intriguing paranormal elements and complications into these tales, there isn’t enough room to explore them fully, and the endings end up feeling rushed. Nevertheless, fans of the previous Zodiac Lovers stories will no doubt savor another helping of these clever tales.

In "Cetus," Clint Porter knows he needs a change, and is hoping a sojourn on a gay cruise through the Caribbean will be just the escape he needs.  He never planned on meeting and falling for the devastatingly handsome ship’s captain, Ransom St. James.  But will their newfound love survive when Clint finds out the secrets of Ransom’s past?  In "Ophiuchus," adventurer Roark Lennox and professional baseball player Riley Miller coincidentally meet in an airport and are instantly attracted to each other.  But when Roark convinces Riley to skip his flight based on a vision of a plane crash, both men begin to wonder how much coincidence — or fate — influenced their meeting.
